Coupon Gibberish Explained

Some may call it coupon lingo, others may say coupon abbreviations. I just call it coupon gibberish. Face it, when you see things like oop, bogo, and mfq it seems like gibberish, am I right? It is completely unintelligible to the untrained eye.

I usually try to type out every thing in my post so there is no confusion, but it is really starting to take over. I think I will start using coupon gibberish, however, not until you are all familiar with it! The one thing I do not like is the way some of these coupon match up websites abbreviate everything.

The one thing I will try not do is complicate the content. I plan on mainly abbreviating the coupon inserts as well as the type of sale.  I want to make my content as understandable as I can. Plus it really is easier for me to write out most of the things anyway.

The following lists are abbreviations, acronyms and their meanings. I may use some of these and some I will not.

  • SS- SMART SOURCE INSERT
  • PG- PROCTOR & GAMBLE INSERT
  • RP- RED PLUM INSERT
  • MTS- MOMENTS TO SAVE INSERT
  • WYB- WHEN YOU BUY
  • BOGO- BUY ONE GET ONE FREE
  • MFG- MANUFACTURER
  • DND- DO NOT DOUBLE
  • ECB- EXTRA CARE BUCKS
  • UP- UP REWARDS
  • RR- REGISTER REWARDS

These are the most commonly used. I really only plan to abbreviate the inserts and use the acronym for buy one get one free. Hope this helps you!
